Thank you to Pam and Kurtis for the crib — the girls each have their own bed now. We have been busy organizing and moving things around. They also love the new caterpillar toy. Because of the electrician that disappeared with 85% of his job done and no electrician’s permit filed, we had to have [...]
We took a trip to Sandy Point State Park on Wednesday. The girls enjoyed the fresh air sitting in the shade at the beach. Today was the girls’ 5 month birthday. To honor this occasion, we (finally) moved the crib and other baby furniture into the nursery. Florencia has woken up the past two mornings [...]
Yes, it’s been over 10 days since the last post. We have been keeping busy. The urologist says that Emilia has a partially obstructed ureter, but her kidney is not damaged. He wants us to wait 3 months, have an ultrasound done, then decide what to do based on that test. The obstruction may clear [...]
The girls went to the pediatrician for their 4 month checkup yesterday. They are both now 24 1/2″ tall and 12 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces. More shots and a bit of crying. Emilia’s arm movement is still improving. The results from Emilia’s renal scan seem to indicate a blockage in the ureter. We need to [...]
This week Tim and Bernita came from South Carolina to visit their granddaughters. Emilia saw Dr. Crawford again. Her arm is improving — the Doctor wants to see us again at the end of June. Emilia went to the hospital today to try the renal scan again. This time the IV was good, and we [...]
Emilia has been moving her left arm more each day. We are going back to Johns Hopkins to see Dr. Crawford, who will perform another EMG tomorrow. Florencia and Emilia both weighed in at 11 pounds 15 1/2 ounces this week.
Even though the babies are getting most of the attention, our garden seems pretty happy. Emilia went to Anne Arundel hospital on Monday for another kidney test. The IV was not completely correct, so only half of the procedure was completed. The poor girl was poked many times already and has to go back again. [...]
Another busy week. Perla started using her pump. Emilia and Florencia visited the Library last week for a story and singing program. Ben’s sinus infection is still lingering — after a follow-up visit to the doctor, a CT scan, and a visit to the ENT specialist, he is now armed with nasal steroids!
